So, here comes the new season, autumn/winter 2006/07. After a seemingly endless summer of sunshine, you are
probably really looking forward to wearing your winter wardrobe again. In fact, you can’t wait to put on layers and thick
fabrics, and you are probably getting frustrated with your wardrobe and are keen for an update. Well here are a few
guidelines for how to update your wardrobe:
1. Go country.
Every winter designers get an obsession for the outdoors, and take their inspiration from nature and the world around
them. Tweed, fur, leather and suede were seen on the catwalks this season in various forms. To one extreme we saw
whips and riding hats with foxes slung over a shoulder. Although everything country is quite expensive if you buy quality
goods, they will last you for a while, and I am sure that over time they will not go out of fashion.
2. Wear a beanie, tights and high heels.
Simple accessories can make an outfit. Try a thick woollen cream-coloured beanie, a pair of footless brown ribbed
tights or a pair of ruby red suede heels to jazz up any outfit and bring it up to date.
3. Choose forest colours.
The most gorgeous colours this season are not black and grey, they are browns, greens and yellows. These colours
just show off a wonderful vitality and spirit for nature. These colours are just the thing for making you feel expensive,
luxurious and desired.
4. Waist cinching belts.
Indeed the belts that you bought last season are here to stay. This time pop them on over the top of everything, even a
coat or a cardi to look really stylish and sexy and show off your figure.
5. Pull on a jumper.
When wearing a knee length dress, try pulling over a jumper on the top and then putting a thin waist cinching belt on as
well. This will look beautifully stylish and is a very simple way to wear last season’s dresses now. There were really only
two neck lines that really wowed the crowds at this seasons shows, plunge and crew. Another great thing, because a
crew neck will look phenomenal on those with small chests, as plunge necks will look amazing on larger chests.
